Värmland in Sweden has been our favorite holiday destination for many years. In 2002, we bought a beautifully located plot near Sillebotten on a hill at the edge of the forest, right by Lake Östra Silen. Here, at the end of our own access road, we built our holiday home. In June 2004, we welcomed our first guests because, when we are not there ourselves, we love to share our holiday home with friends and other Sweden enthusiasts.
Here you can: get up at your leisure, take a walk whenever it suits you, stay indoors without feeling like you are missing out, and stay comfortably close to nature in every season of the year.
Unique location
As soon as we arrive at holiday home Silltal and step out of the car, we immediately experience the peace and space of the overwhelming nature. From the house and the spacious veranda, we enjoy the unobstructed view of the lake and the surroundings of Sillebotten every day. We have furnished the house comfortably and equipped it with all conveniences, including a modern bathroom, a complete kitchen, good beds, and a cozy wood stove. There is also a Swedish sauna with a view of Lake Östra Silen.
From our house, you can step straight into the forest and nature for a walk or to look for chanterelles and blueberries. Boating on the lake and picnicking on one of the islands are also among our favorite activities. We often hike in the forests behind the house or in the nearby Glaskogen nature reserve. In winter, we enjoy the snow, winter walks, ice fishing, and cross-country skiing. Thanks to the clean air, the starry sky here is impressive, and sometimes the moon reflects beautifully in the still water of the lake in front of our house. After a visit to our Swedish sauna, it is wonderful to relax on the terrace and take it all in.
We manage Silltal with care, exactly the way we like it ourselves, and with attention to what truly contributes to a pleasant stay for people who appreciate peace and nature and value comfort.
